Senior Accountant

Summary & Scope of Position: 

Provide accounting support on month-end close process, including SEC reporting, revenue recognition, contract accruals, and inventory valuation.  In addition, support the operations of the Company’s international operations and review of monthly financial information from the Company’s international operations, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with preparation of quarterly review and annual audit schedules and footnote disclosures for SEC filings such as forms 10Q/10K
  • Maintain accurate financial records to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Sarbanes-Oxley and US GAAP
  • Assist with preparing and accumulating support for control documents selected for SOX testing
  • Interface with European finance team relating to Company’s international operations
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements for internal review.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting records for contract accruals, revenue adjustments and inventory valuation
  • Prepare journal vouchers and account reconciliations for both U.S. and international operations
  • Assist in researching and documenting various accounting topics
  • Perform hands on monthly processes per accounting close schedule for both U.S. and international companies
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly Audit Committee slides
  • Respond to questions about expenses, trends, and deviations from budgets
  • Prepare various reports and analyses
  • Perform other related duties as required and back up accounting staff as needed

    Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience
  • CPA with at least three years of recent Big Four experience, preferred
  • Must be a self-starter
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook; Oracle experience a plus
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Requires flexibility to put in extra hours during critical times such as month, quarter and year-end close cycles
  • Willingness to shift hours as needed to accommodate European time zone differences and foster communication.
